Stewartville area Food inSecurity (safi)

You may be surprised to learn that Stewartville has families experiencing food insecurities. 


To assist these families, our area organizations have been actively involved in helping support the school Backpack Food Program in various way. The current sponsoring churches include Zion Lutheran, St. John's Lutheran, Stewartville United Methodist Church, and the Stewartville Morning Lions. Unfortunately, the food insecurities within Stewartville go well beyond these children and what the Backpack Food Program supplies. 


With continued efforts to address the need, six Little Free Pantries were established around town. Each pantry is sponsored by an area church and may contain (but not limited to) non-perishable food, hygiene/body care products, and toiletries.

Additional food Resources Available

The Racine United Methodist Church has a food shelf available for those in need. Current hours of operation is Thursdays from 6-8pm.
