Youth Ministry

At Stewartville UMC, we believe that our youth are incredible! We are passionate about supporting the young people in our church and community. Join as we grow together in faith, serve others and nurture our own spiritual journeys.

Serving others is a major component of the Youth Ministry Program at SUMC. Sharing God's love with our neighbors through service projects connects us to each other and our community.

CIA - Christians in action

Grades 5-6

Our young Christians in Action dive deeper into their own faith, and participate in lessons and projects that help them build on what they’ve learned in Sunday School. Students learn to serve others in our congregation and community while they are actively engaging in their own faith-forming journeys.

Grades 7-8

Confirmation at SUMC is a two-year program, and includes WORSHIP, LESSONS, SERVICE, MENTORS, and RETREATS.

senior high youth group

Grades 9-12

Open to 9th through 12th grade students, Senior High Youth Group is a place to LOVE, GROW and SERVE. We love God, our planet, others, and ourselves, We grow in faith through lessons, worship, activities and projects, and we serve others in our church and community.

Youth Ministry retreat

VBS is a happy summer tradition, and we always enjoy hosting our program! In 2025, VBS at SUMC is open to kiddos from Preschool through High School (in two separate sessions), and we are looking forward to an amazing week! This year's curriculum is The Great Campout, and we're looking forward to exploring the Great Commission through games, service projects, songs, and fellowship! We hope your students can join us!

*Our PK-4th grade session will meet each evening for three days. The Youth Retreat is an overnight event (with an option to just attend Friday).

*VBS and Youth Ministry Retreat at SUMC are open to ALL students, regardless of home church, hometown, or other factors. All are welcome!
